Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP)

Those who can finish college have a 98% chance of overcoming poverty. In the Philippines, for every 100 children that enter grade 1, only 14 will finish college.

Through Caritas Manila’s Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP), poor but deserving youths are given a chance to earn college or vocational/technical degrees to help them lift their families out of poverty.

YSLEP prioritizes:

– the disadvantaged youths

– those from the poorest provinces

– indigenous peoples

– victims of calamities

– those affected by the war and conflicts in the poorest areas of Mindanao

YSLEP Modules three-point action:

  1. Leadership Engagement
  2. Holistic Formation
  3. Academic Excellence

Each scholar is not just expected to graduate but to become a LEADER in his or her community imbued with SELF-DISCIPLINE, MORAL INTEGRITY, and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

This year, we aim to help 5,000 poor but deserving youths nationwide. All it takes is P30,000 per year to support 1 Youth Servant Leader.
