CM Clinics
The high incidence of ailments among the urban poor has prompted Caritas Manila to establish parish-based clinics that provide free basic medical and dental services and medicines to the
Poor. Caritas maintains 26 parish-based health clinics in Metro Manila. Cases range from common ailments like colds, fever, and flu to more complex ailments like hypertension and pulmonary infection. Institutional partnerships and individual donations enable CM to extend a helping hand and even to save the lives of our poor brothers and sisters.
Crisis Management
Caritas Manila maintains a crisis intervention and emergency relief desk to respond to cases that cannot be attended to at the parish and vicariate levels. It continues to perform significant work in emergency cases for major disasters such as typhoons, flash floods, other natural calamities, and fire.

Operation True Love
Caritas also administers Operation True-Love, a medical-dental outreach mission, which is the response of the Church's Social Service Ministry to the urgent need of the poor to have access to health care. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Medical & Dental Team provides free medical services and medicine, while Radyo Veritas gives free prescription glasses, groceries, and media coverage. Camongol Optical gives free eye consultations. Parish staff and volunteers assist in the missions.
HIV/AIDS Program
HIV/AIDS is a growing concern for the Church because of its potential to cause an epidemic if not addressed immediately. Through its advocacy and a strategic partnership with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and Caritas Internationalis, Caritas has revitalized its involvement in the HIV/AIDS campaign.
Caritas Manila also continues to provide direct services to Alay-Pagasa, a support group of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their family members. The program provides crisis assistance, loan assistance, funeral assistance, and scholarships to immediate family members of Alay Pagasa.
Caritas has integrated its campaign to educate parishioners and local communities on HIV/AIDS by incorporating it with its traning and formation modules under the Education, Health, and Restorative Justice Programs all within the context of Catholic teachings.

Three out of every ten Filipino children are malnourished, resulting in anemia, poor resistance to ailments, and dull-headedness. The Church's response to the problem is HAPAG-ASA, an integrated Nutrition Program implemented in the parishes, via Parish Action Teams composed of volunteers. Local government units help with facilities, medicine, equipment such as weighing scales, and more volunteers. To ensure the continued health of the children beyond the feeding period, the parents undergo an educational program where they are taught health education, spiritual formation, and livelihood skills.
